The Blessings of Giving

Tithes and offerings are often grouped together, but they’re definitely not the same thing. A tithe is a specific amount (a minimum 10% of your income) that you give front your "first fruits", and an offering is any amount you give beyond that.

After you’ve tithed and paid all your bills and necessary expenses for the month, you can gift an offering from any extra money remaining. This can include giving a cash offering to your place of worship that is above and beyond your normal tithe, giving money to a charity you support, giving to a friend in need, or giving your time and skills by volunteering.

"Whosoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously."

Giving always results in receiving

- When you give from your heart you not only receive in return, but receive with bonus and blessing. When we give it will be given back unto us in like measure, plus overflowing.

- God promises to return your gift to you in good measure - “running over”

- When you become a giver, you automatically move yourself into the realm of a receiver. The source God uses doesn’t matter. What is important is that you understand this spiritual principle: when you give, you will receive a return.

- You will receive a greater measure then you give.

- The measure we use in giving will determine the measure God will apply to us in receiving.

- No matter with what measure we give our gift, when we give to God, we will receive a return.

- “For whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” “Give, and it shall be given unto you …”

We are given much so we can give away much

The Divine promises to give us back more than we give, and God guarantees this return to all who give to His work). “Yes, God will give you much so that you can give away much.” 2 Corinthians 9:11

Giving unleashes power in your life

Your gift will prosper you. God promises that when you are a giver, your gift will increase and multiply. “A gift . . . whithersoever it turneth, it prospereth.” Proverbs 17:8

Make room in your life

Your gift will provide you a place in life, and will bring you before great (godly) men in society.

“A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.”   Proverbs 18:16

Giving will spread the truth

“How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent?  Romans 10:14-15

Giving brings a harvest

“In due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Galatians 6:9

Giving always prospers the giver

“There is one who scatters, yet increases more; And there is one who withholds more than is right… But it leads to poverty.” Proverbs 11:24

He promises to give us back more than we give, and He guarantees this return to all His depositors (all those who give to His work). “Yes, God will give you much so that you can give away much.” 2 Corinthians 9:11

God’s giving guarantee

“But remember - if you give little, you will get little. A farmer who plants just a few seeds will get only a small crop, but if he plants much, he will reap much.”  2 Corinthians 9:6

Again: “For whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” "Give, and it shall be given unto you..." (Luke 6:38)
